Woman recounting dream to male student of knowledge

Question

Salam. I am presenting this question to clarify. Is it permissible for a woman who is covered from head to toe (including the eyes, but not her hands) to demonstrate in a video what occurred in her dream to a male student of knowledge given that the shape/size of her ‘Awrah (what should be covered of the body) appears due to putting a cloth around her breast? She is only doing this as a necessity for him to understand the picture of what occurred in her dream since it also affected her in this world after waking up. If she cannot do so, could you please give her ideas on how she can demonstrate this?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

It is not permissible for a Muslim woman to reveal anything from her body to be seen by someone who has no right to see it except for a necessity or a dire need, as in medical treatment and the like. What is mentioned here is not a necessity or a dire need.

We do not know what leads this woman to do that with the so-called student of knowledge. If he is a good interpreter of dreams and her objective is that he interprets the dream for her, then she is not in need to show him that. It is sufficient for her to describe to him what she saw with modesty and decency.

It is perhaps praised modesty not to say this about herself but to say to him, “A woman saw such-and-such in her dream…"

Allah knows best.
