Asalaam aleykoum wa rahmatullah,If a person works in a mixed school/university in the west and have to registrate students in courses (which can be mixed) will the person then be contributing to free mixing? Will the person be responsible for the bad consequenses that may result from it? Is this job lawful? Barak'Allahu feekom.
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
There is no harm in the mere registration of students in mixed schools in that country –Allah willing –but the problem is working in these places with the existence of forbidden mixing whereby the employee may be exposed to temptation and other prohibitions; in this case it is not permissible to work in this place.
The fact that the Muslim lives in the West or in the East does not affect the ruling, and he must leave his job in this case and look for another one.
It is not permissible for one to continue working in such a place except for a necessity or a dire need.
On the other hand, living in non-Muslim countries involves many risks and hardships, especially with regard to preserving the faith and morals of one's children. Hence, if the Muslim is not in necessity or a dire need, then he should migrate to a Muslim country where he can be safe in regard to his religion.
