Fatwa CenterNot Known When ‘Aa’ishah Had Menses for the First Time
Question
As salamu aleiykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhWhat was the age of Hazrat Aisha (RA) when she got her menses for the first time?A scholar i asked told me that in arabic sources it says that it she had her menses for the first time at the battle of Tabuk. Is this true?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
We did not come across any statement of the scholars that determines the first time that ‘Aa’ishah 
had menses, or that the first time she had menstruation was in the battle of Tabook.
It is known that ‘Aa’ishah was nine years old when the Prophet consummated the marriage with her in the first year of his Hijrah (migration) [to Madeenah], while the battle of Tabook took place in the ninth year of Hijrah, which was when the last battles took place.
Therefore, what you have heard is most unlikely.
It should be noted that there is no benefit in knowing this issue and there is no harm in ignoring it. So, there is no need to ask about it.
Hence, we advise you to avoid such questions and instead ask about what benefits you.
