Transfer of Impurity Between Two Substances

Question

Asalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh, i found this on a website: 56. Question: Where does the domino effect of mutanajjis items stop when it is no longer wet?157. Answer: The first mutanajjis item would make the item that comes into contact with it impure; similarly, the second mutanajjis would make the item that comes into contact with it impure; but the third mutanajjis can no longer make other items impure, irrespective of whether it is wet or dry.Is this true?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

This is not true. Many scholars are of the view that if a wet substance comes into contact with something dry, and one of them is impure, then the impurity is transferred to it (the pure substance).

Some other scholars are of the view that the impurity is not considered to be transferred unless it is known that the actual impurity was transferred. The measure that governs this is that if one squeezes the substance (that was dry) and water comes out of it; in this case it has become impure. This is the summary of the view adopted by the Hanafi scholars.

There are many details and differences between the various schools of jurisprudence. However, according to our knowledge, we do not know of an opinion of any of the scholars that includes the details you mentioned in the question.
