Non Muslim here, suppose if I wanted to receive to receive guidance, how shall I do it. Should I say "oh Allah if you exist guide me or what? Also perhaps it's true that i've spread anti-Islamic ideas, if we say that I do receive guidance how would I repent for that, is it necessary to refute all of those previous ideas or to simply announce my conviction? Would that new faith be accepted from me as soon as I form the intention or only after I'm finished I hope for a detailed answer
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that none is worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is His slave and messenger.
A non-Muslim should wholeheartedly turn to Allah, asking Him to guide him to the truth and supplicating Him to grant him what is good. He then has to earnestly contemplate the evidence objectively without prejudice, for if he does so, he will certainly find his way to the truth and realize that Islam is the true religion of Allah.
Sufficient for him as proof is the miraculous Quran which was communicated to us by a Prophet who did not know how to read or write, and who had no knowledge of past Scriptures. However, the Quran talks about past and future events and challenged the remarkably eloquent Arabs to produce the like of the Quran or even bring forth a single chapter like it, but they failed.
It is also sufficient for him to contemplate the life of the Prophet his refined character, outstanding qualities, what he called for, and what he commanded. Such contemplation would inevitably lead him to the decisive belief that he was truly the Messenger of Allah.
The questioner should bear in mind that when a misguided person finds his way to the truth and is blessed with reverting to Islam, all his past sins and disbelief are forgiven. Allah, The Exalted, says (what means): {Say to those who have disbelieved [that] if they cease, what has previously occurred will be forgiven for them} [Quran 8:38] No matter how many sins he had committed before reverting to Islam and no matter how fiercely he fought against it in the past, all that will be wiped out and pardoned the moment he reverts to Islam. Afterwards, he should keenly strive in defending Islam to the best of his ability and guide others to the truth as he was guided. Whoever leads others to good and righteousness earns a reward equal to theirs, and the more people he guides to the truth, the greater his reward. The Prophet was reported to have said: “If Allah guides one single man through you, that would be better for you than possessing red camels (the finest breed which is worth massive wealth).”
If it happened that you had posted material against Islam, you should know that your sin will be wiped out and forgiven when you revert to Islam. You are not required to do anything in this regard as per the Sharee'ah. It is recommended, though, that you should keenly strive in defending and supporting Islam as earnestly as you attacked it before. You are also advised to spare no effort in serving Islam and promoting it; this is expected from honorable people like yourself.
If you can delete these posts or refute them or seek the help of others to refute them, then it would be a good deed for which you will be rewarded, Allah Willing.
We ask Allah, The Exalted, to guide you to all that is good and righteous.
Allah knows best.
