Born But Did Not Practice and Wants to Abide by Islam

Question

My name is Arshad. I am from India (State of Kerala). Presently I am working in Qatar. I am born to a muslim parents. But I have lived a very short life as a muslim. From my chidhood, I was not observing my salah properly. I started praying regularly after I reached puberty but this lasted only for 1 or 2 years. Then I stopped praying due to some thoughts that I doubt my faith.
Presently,I abandon the daily prayers and commit sins according to my desires. I also have some problems related to waswas, doubts regarding my Faith, other issues etc. I cannot explain all my problems in this question and there are lot to explain. I also feel embarrassed to seek the any help through someone I know as I need to inform him that I am not a Muslim. I need to resolve this issue and return back to Islam but I am not sincere in this. When I think of repenting, I ignore this thought because of silly reasons. I feel I need someone to compel me for repenting. I know that abandoning prayer is one of the gravest sins that can take a person out of islam. I also know that a person who abandons prayer or an apostate should be executed if he does not repent if he lives in an islamic country.
Since Qatar is a Muslim country, I believe these laws are applicable here. Is there any center/court where I can approach so that I can clear my doubts and I will be compelled to return to Islam.
Please help me.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

You are a Muslim, praise be to Allah, and you do not need to renew your Islam because you do not go out of the fold of Islam due to these doubts.

Similarly, even if abandoning the prayer is one of the major sins, it is not considered disbelief according to the view of the majority of the scholars.

Hence, you must take the initiate to sincerely repent to Allah Almighty.

The matter is very simple; you only have to perform Islamic obligations and avoid committing prohibitions and abide by the Sharee’ah (the Legislation of Allah).

What will help you in doing this, is to keep company with the righteous people as there is much good in their company. Also, strive in supplicating Allah Almighty to make you firm on Eemaan (belief/faith) and repel evil from you.

You can go to Qatar Islamic Cultural Center "Fanar" which is near Souq Waqif, and they will help you there, Allah willing.

Allah knows best.
