Question

I am working as a freelancer on a website, everything on that website is completely halal. But my non muslim client buy me a domain from his credit card and i am working on that domain to make the website. So working on that domain is halal for me? Or it is not permissible for me to use because it is purchased on credit card ?

Accepted Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

The fact that the domain name was purchased with a credit card does not prevent from benefitting from it in a permissible way. If there is a sin due to the use of the credit card, like a usurious interest on it, then the sin falls on its owner and not on you.

Therefore, you may use the said domain name and benefit from it in what is permissible.

We ask Allah to grant you success, mercy, and facilitate for you from your affair right guidance.
