What is the ruling on working as a food safety specialist in hotels that serve foreign tourists or serve alcohol, knowing that there is no direct contact with tourists or serving alcohol, but I may be responsible for its safety and room hygiene.
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
There is nothing wrong with working in hotels in what is related to ensuring the safety of lawful food, cleaning rooms, or similar tasks that are essentially permissible and do not involve providing forbidden services, such as serving alcohol or Haram (unlawful) food.
This type of work does not constitute direct or intentional assistance in any forbidden activities that may take place in the hotel, as the primary intended benefit of hotels is accommodation, which is in principle permissible.
Allah knows best.
