Advice in pilgrimage is cooperation in righteousness

Question

While performing Pilgrimage, I saw some mistakes made by pilgrims and others. Consequently, I advised them as much as I could. Do I bear guilt for doing that?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger.

We supplicate Allaah to accept your pilgrimage and render your effort praiseworthy. You displayed a good attitude when you advised those who made mistakes while performing the rituals of Hajj, and you will be rewarded for that. It is an act of cooperation in righteousness and piety. Allaah Says (what means): {And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression.}[Quran 5:2] Offering advice to fellow Muslims conforms with the Hadeeth of the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, in which he sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) told us that the essence of religion is to offer sincere advice to Muslims. [Muslim]

Allaah Knows best.
