Muslim emigrant to Muslim country feels unwelcome

Question

As-salamu alaikum wa Rahmatullah I'm a relatively new revert, 4yrs to be exact. We are now residing in Yemen in an effort to comply with the command of our Rabb, that is to leave Dar ul Kuffar and go to Dar ul Islam. However, we find that we are unwelcome in these countries and are often viewed with suspicion. Job opportunities are minimal, especially when one has a beard in accordance with the sunnah. What are we to do in such circumstances? Where are the Ansaar?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

My dear brother, first of all, all perfect praise be to Allaah, Who guided you to Islam and we ask Him to make you firm and steadfast on His Religion until the day you meet Him.

You should fear Allaah and be patient. Allaah Says (what means): {And whoever fears Allaah—He will make for him a way out. And will provide for him from where he does not expect. And whoever relies upon Allaah — then He is sufficient for him. } [Quran 65:2-3].

Indeed you did well by migrating from a Non-Muslim country to a Muslim country, seeking permissible income and trying to avoid prohibitions and much evil.

As regards the problems you are facing by keeping your beard, then this is a trial from Allaah, so you should be patient. Allaah tests His Slaves and makes firm those whom He wishes good for.

Hence, you may supplicate Allaah with the following supplications:

*اللّهُـمَّ اكْفِـني بِحَلالِـكَ عَنْ حَـرامِـك، وَأَغْنِـني بِفَضْـلِكِ عَمَّـنْ سِـواك و بطاعتك عن معصيتك و بفضلك عمن سواك, يا واسع المغفرة .

''Allaahumma akfini bihalaalika 'an haraamika, wabitaa'atika 'an ma'siyyatika wa bifadhlika 'amman siwaaka, ya waasi'ul-maghfira''.

‘O Allaah, make what is lawful enough for me, as opposed to that which is unlawful, and spare me -by Your grace- of need of others, and suffice me with acts of obedience to You as opposed to acts of disobedience, and grant me Your Favour as opposed to the favour of people, O Allaah, You are The Most Merciful.''

* *َلا حَـوْلَ وَلا قُـوَّةَ إِلاّ بِالله'' La hawla wala quwwata illa billaah.''

''There is no might and no power except with Allaah.''

* حَسْـبِيَ اللهُ وَنِـعْمَ الوَكيـل.

Hasbiyallaahu wani'mal-wakeel.

''Allaah is sufficient for me, and how fine a trustee (He is).''

* حَسْبِـيَ اللّهُ لا إلهَ إلاّ هُوَ عَلَـيهِ تَوَكَّـلتُ وَهُوَ رَبُّ العَرْشِ العَظـيم

Hasbiyallaahu laa ilaaha illa huwa, 'alayhi tawakkaltu, wahuwa rabbul-'arshil-'adheem

''Allaah is Sufficient for me, None has the right to be worshipped except Him, upon Him I rely and He is the Lord of The Exalted Throne.''

Allaah Knows best.
