Ajino moto and KFC chicken

Question

1. Ajino moto is a salt, used in food. Its made by China. In the light of Islam, is this Halal or Haram?2. Fried chicken, which is food. Is it Halal or Haram?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.
There is nothing wrong (Islamically) in consuming salt that is processed in China or in any other non Muslim country, even if its inhabitants are not from the People of The Book. This is so, because what is forbidden from their food is the meat of the animals they slaughter (i.e. non Muslims not from The People of The Book) or any food that might have included some impure ingredients (like pork).

As for eating fried chicken; it is lawful if the chicken is slaughtered in a Muslim country. However, if it is imported from a non Muslim country, then please see its ruling in Fatwa: 82323.

Allaah knows best.
