I pray all the time, fast, and do what God Commands in His Book. My problem: my wife is slightly fat and she can't "turn me on" at all, but I love her. I am still too young to take any medications, so to solve my problem I watch sex movies. I just watch so I can be ready to have sex with my wife, nothing else. Is this approved in Islam?
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
You are obliged to immediately and sincerely repent to Allah and abstain from watching pornographic pictures. In fact, looking at such pictures is a major sin and a clear violation of the limits set by Allah. Allah Commands all His slaves to lower their gaze and refrain from looking at forbidden scenes. Allah Says (what means): {Tell the believing men to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts, etc.). That is purer for them. Verily, Allah is All-Aware of what they do. And tell the believing women to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts, etc.)…} [Quran 24:30-31]
The dangers of looking at these pictures are more serious than you could imagine. These shameless films and pictures darken the hearts and subsequently kill them. Or, the devil will gradually drive you to enjoy films that are more offensive than those you are watching now, such as those which teach adultery, homosexuality, etc.
Therefore, you must repent to Allah immediately. Also, you should know that committing such sins and evil does not suit a fasting and praying person because watching pornography totally contradicts the meaning of the fast and prayer.
Moreover, you should praise Allah who has bestowed upon you good health and peace. Just think if Allah did not give you good health or peace, you would suffer and be busy only to get the lost peace or health having no time to watch what is forbidden. You must also seek Allah's Protection from the devil and his insinuation and be satisfied with that which is lawful. Hence, you should be steadfast and avoid committing what is forbidden.
We advise you to be kind and loving to your wife and think of her good qualities. Being loving and affectionate to her may help both of you in your marital union.
But, if you think that your wife can not satisfy you and you are able to marry a second wife, then we advise you to marry a second wife if it is possible to help you solve this bad problem. Indeed, Allah legislates marrying a second wife to restrain people from indulging in what is forbidden.
Allah knows best.
