Question
Is it Haram to ask a Sheikh for help about issues of her marriage without having husband's agreement? Or without husband's knowledge?
Answer
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the World; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
Allah, The Great and Almighty, Says: {…so ask the people of the Reminder [Scriptures - the Taurât (Torah), the Injeel (Gospel)] if you do not know.} [21:7].
For sure, the female companions (Radiya Allahu Anhunna) of the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) used to ask him about religious matters and he used to answer them.
Therefore, there is no objection to ask Ulamah about marital issues even without having a husband's consent.
Furthermore, it is better to do that, i.e. to ask Sheikhs without his knowledge, especially if such knowledge may cause problems between both of you.
