Question
I'm student in Germany and wanted to protect myself from Haram so I tried to marry, but I think the Muslims in Europe don't want me because I'm still student. Is it Haram to marry Christian just for my time in Germany and then divorce? I know its Zwaj Mut'a Haram but is that also Haram with Christian or just with Muslim?
Answer
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions. Mut'ah marriage (temporary marriage) is forbidden through the injunctions of the Qur'an and the Sunnah and the consensus of the scholars. See Fatwa: 82221 for a detailed explanation. It makes no difference whether the woman is a Muslimah or a Jew or Christian. Allah knows best.
