Explanation of Qur'anic verses (7: 205) and (76: 25)

Question

Please explain Ayah No. 205 of Surah Al-A'raf (7: 205) and Ayah No. 25 of Surah Al-Insan (76: 25).

Answer

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions. Allah The Almighty Says in the Qur'an: {And remember your Lord within yourself, humbly and with fear and without loudness in words in the mornings and in the afternoons, and be not of those who are neglectful.}[7:205]. The explanation of this verse is: Allah the Almighty urges His worshippers to constantly remember Him according to His instruction to His Prophet (peace be upon him) [through this verse], for whatever instruction comes from Allah (may He be Exalted) to His Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) is an instruction to the whole Muslim Ummah (community). Allah outlined this remembrance with four descriptions: 1) "Within yourself": meaning sincere and firm remembrance that emanates from the core of the worshipper's heart, a kind of remembrance which is nearer to his understanding, pondering, and putting it to application. Furthermore, this kind of remembrance indicates more sincerity and closeness to Allah. 2) "Humbly" means with complete submission and fear both internally (heart) and externally (body) (apparent and concealed). 3) "With fear" means "with a fearful and subservient heart", that is, fearing Allah lest his (the Prophet's - and generally every Muslim's) deeds be rejected. Among the indications of this fear is the worshipper's endeavour to do his deeds perfectly, advising others to do the same. 4) "without loudness in words" means "in whispers", neither reticently nor out loud, rather some way in between. In this way, the worshipper (who observes remembrance) will combine two things: showing humbleness and submission inwardly (by heart) and outwardly (by tongue). He is fearful and mindful from within (inwardly) and humble in appearance (seemingly or outwardly). Then Allah mentioned the preferable times when remembrance is better to be done (and better rewarded) by saying: "at morning", the onset of the day and "evening", the end of the day. Allah furthermore, warned against being neglectful and mindless to remember Him in these times in particular and in other times: "and be not of those who are neglectful." As for Allah's saying in Surah (chapter) Al-Insan, "Remember the name of thy Lord at morn and evening", its meaning is that you have to mention your Lord, Allah Almighty, at the beginning of the day (morn) and at the end of the day (evening). This is in conformity with the previous Ayah (verse) in singling out the preferable times of remembrance. Allah knows best.
