Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

There is no harm in being a partner with your wife in things that are lawful and not in things that are unlawful, but you should avoid helping her in committing what is forbidden or facilitating it for her. You are obliged to constantly advise her not to sell what is forbidden, like pork and the like. It is an obligation on every Muslim to forbid evil according to his ability. So it is not enough to only avoid the money earned from selling pork, but you should not help in selling it or being pleased with it. You are constantly required to advise her if you are not able to totally prevent her from doing so.

It should be mentioned that a husband will be questioned on the Day of Judgement on the acts of disobedience that his wife is committing. Allaah Says (which means): {O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from the Fire.}[Quran 66:6]. So, this makes it an obligation on you, as a husband, to forbid her from committing any evil act according to your ability without negligence or remissness, by forbidding her by force or by tongue. Among the means that the scholars may Allaah have mercy upon them mentioned in forbidding evil is not to speak to her in order to deter her from committing evil. There is no difference whether the sinner is a wife or someone else.

Finally, we advise you to supplicate to Allaah as much as possible to guide her and enable her to do righteous acts.

Allaah Knows best.
