Question
I have heard that NASA took a satellite photo and amazingly they found two lightning spots (Makkah and Madeenah) in the very dark photo of the earth. Please, can you verify and explain that as a miracle from Allaah to the infidels.
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
Some press agencies reported an article which was written by Amirah Ash-Shinwaani-PhD, a political researcher in the Egyptian popular congress, entitled: 'The picture which surprised the whole world'. She pointed to the news that the world news agencies reported about a unique phenomenon which surprised NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) scientists. The article is about the last picture which was taken by a space satellite. The picture shows the entire Earth completely black with the exception of two places which were very bright. These two places are exactly the Haraam mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s 
mosque in Madeenah.
As a Fatwa centre we are neither able to confirm this fact nor to deny it as this is not our speciality. However, we confirm that Allaah is able to show us miracles that are more amazing and miraculous than this one. Indeed there are, in this great universe, many evidences about Allaah’s creation, proving His greatness.
