Can we put cover (with other paper or transparent plastic sheets) on the Quran (the Mushaaf copy) to save it from dust or dirt?
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
Covering or laminating the Mus-haf (i.e. the book of the Arabic text of the Quran) with paper and the like in order to protect it from dust and dirt and the like is permissible, rather, this is something required as this reflects honouring and glorifying the symbols of Allaah. Allaah Says (what means): {And whosoever honours the Symbols of Allaah, then it is truly from the piety of the heart.}[Quran 22:32].
Allaah Knows best.
