All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

In Islam it is permitted to entertain oneself provided the religious requirements are met. For instance these games should not preoccupy one from mentioning Allaah, from the prayer or any other obligation, and they should not include any sin like forbidden Images, music, or gambling. Also, they should not incite one to commit a sin, stimulate one to deviate or lead to other religious prohibitions. Nonetheless, there is no harm if they contain killing ‘bad guys’, as the questioner mentioned, provided the above conditions are met.
