Dividing inheritance among 5 sons and 8 daughters

Question

Assalaamu ‘Alaykum; Please calculate the inheritance according to the following information -Does the deceased have male relatives who are entitled to inherit: (A son) Number 5 (grandson (from the son)) Number 8 (A full brother) Number 1 (A nephew from a full brother) Number 5 (A cousin from a full paternal uncle) Number 5 -Does the deceased have female relatives who are entitled to inherit : (A daughter) Number 8 (A granddaughter (from the son)) Number 4 (A full sister) Number 1

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.

If the deceased did not have any heirs except those mentioned in the question, then the entire estate will be divided among the five sons and the eight daughters, with the male getting the share of two females, for Allaah The Almighty says (what means): {Allaah instructs you concerning your children: for the male, what is equal to the share of two females.}[Quran 4:11]

Nothing will be given to the other stated heirs because they are all prevented from the inheritance due to the existence of the son of the deceased.

Based on that, the estate should be divided into 18 shares; two shares for each son and one share for each daughter.
