Fatwa CenterWudhoo’ with dental veneers is valid
Question
Salam would wudu still be valid if one has veneers on their teeth as I have heard that when rinsing the mouth during wudu, it is only compulsory that the water touches the soft fleshy parts of the mouth and so veneers covering the teeth would not invalidate wudu? jzk
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
The jurists differed in opinion about the ruling of rinsing the mouth when performing Wudhoo’, whether it is a recommended Sunnah or an obligation. There are two opinions in this regard, and the view we at Islamweb consider to be the most valid opinion, and which is also the view of the majority of scholars, is that it is a Sunnah. Hence, it is not obligatory to remove anything from the teeth, even if it prevents the water from reaching them because it is not obligatory to rinse the mouth in the first place.
Even according to the view, according to the Hanbali School, that rinsing the mouth is obligatory in Wudhoo’, it is not obligatory to rinse the entire mouth. For those who hold this opinion, it is enough for the water to roll around in part of the mouth. Ibn Qudaamah said: "It is not obligatory to roll the water around in the entire mouth." [End of quote]
Al-Buhooti 
said in Kash-shaaf Al-Qinaa‘: "The obligation of rinsing the mouth is achieved by the slightest movement of water around inside the mouth." [End of quote]

Moreover, Sharh Al-Muntaha reads: "The obligation of rinsing the mouth consists in moving the water around inside the mouth, even just moving it in part of the mouth."
Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen was asked: "Does a person have to remove dental fixtures if they prevent the water from reaching what is underneath them or not?" He replied: "Apparently, it is not an obligation. This resembles the ring, and it is not an obligation to remove the ring when performing Wudhoo’, but it is more appropriate to move it (in place, to make water reach underneath it), but this is not obligatory, because the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, wore a ring but it was not reported that he would move it when performing Wudhoo’. It is more obvious that a ring prevents the water from reaching the skin more than dental fixtures do, especially since it is difficult for some people to remove them." [End of quote]
