Athkaar and Ruqyahs: invincible fortresses

Question

There is a Muslim sister who becomes extremely anxious and starts to cry whenever she passes by an impure area or a place where there are magicians. What is the interpretation of this, given that there are no symptoms of black magic apparent on her?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.

What this sister suffers when she passes by such places may be due to her fear of impure areas and magicians. It may also be the result of a spiritual disease such as magic or possession.

We advise her to recite the Sharee‘ah-approved Ruqyah (Quranic healing), observe the morning and evening Athkaar (mentionings and remembrances of Allaah) and mention Allaah The Exalted as much as she can.

Referring to this, Allaah The Almighty Says (what means):

  • {Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allaah hearts are assured.} [Quran 13: 28]
  • {O you who have believed, remember Allaah with much remembrance.} [Quran 33: 41]
  • {So mention Me; I will mention you.} [Quran 2: 152]

Allaah Knows best.
