Question

My wife is pregnant, if it is possible can I remove public hair in Islam?

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

Removing the pubic hair is among the Sunan of Fitrah (natural predisposition upon which Allaah created mankind). It is desirable to remove this hair and it is disliked to leave it more than forty days.

Therefore, it is permissible for you to remove your pubic hair and your wife’s pubic hair. Pregnancy has no effect in this matter as long as it does not result in any harm on your wife and her fetus.
