Assalaamu alaykum. In fatwa no. 351643, I read that such cartoons do not fall in the same category as looking at real images. But in fatwa no. 88793, such pictures are forbidden. From what I read, I assume that the latter is forbidden because it is pornographic and has bad influences? Please clarify this, so that I do not misunderstand. Also, I like to save images (photography) of fashion, but I use them to dress in front of my Mahrams (permanently unmarriageable kin). Outside, I wear a hijab. Is this permitted? May Allah reward you.
All perfect praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
There is no contradiction between the two fatwas, as they are about two different things.
Among the conditions of contradiction is that the compared things should be about the same subject, as is known in the principles of debate.
In the first fatwa, some scholars are of the view that looking at cartoons or photographic images does not take the ruling of looking at real human beings in all aspects. So not all that is forbidden to look at in reality is forbidden to look at its image. According to them, looking at images is prohibited if they arouse desires and lusts and lead to evils.
The second fatwa is that pornographic cartoons that arouse desires and lust are forbidden to look at, and this does not contradict the first fatwa.
As for the woman looking at images of models [fashions] and keeping such images for the purpose of adorning herself in front of her Mahrams, then if the image is not indecent and does not arouse lusts, and looking at it does not lead to evil, then it does not seem that this is forbidden, based on the statement in the first fatwa.
Allah knows best.
