Ruling on Madhy (Pre-Seminal Fluid) During Prayer

Question

I suffer from continuous madhiy as I get aroused by every thing around me. So if I commit any act of minor zina I will continue to think about it for a long time which results madhiy especially during prayers times, and therefore I try to avoid it as much possible, but sometimes i fall back into it does that mean that i am no longer muslim? Because this continuous discharge comes as a result of my actions so would the excuse/pardon (of breaking wudu by this) not be accepted and my prayers too?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His Slave and Messenger.

We ask Allah, the Most High, to pardon you and to turn away from you evil and immorality.

There is no doubt that you remain a Muslim. Your doubts about your Islam are merely baseless misgivings (waswasah), so ignore them and do not occupy yourself with them.

As for your situation: if the discharge of madhy stops at a known time that is sufficient for purification and prayer, then you must wait until it stops, and then perform the prayer.

If you become certain that it exited during the prayer, then the prayer is invalid, and you must stop it immediately and repeat it after renewing your ablution, since the discharge of madhy nullifies wudu’, as it is a commonly known discharge from one of the two private passages.

However, if the discharge of madhy is continuous, such that it does not cease for a period sufficient to perform purification and prayer, or its cessation is irregular—occurring at times and not at others, advancing at times and delaying at others—then your ruling is that of one suffering from continuous discharge. Consequently, you should perform wudu’ after the entry of each prayer time and pray with that ablution whatever obligatory and voluntary prayers you wish, and whatever exits thereafter does not harm you. We ask Allah to accept your prayer and all your acts of worship.

This ruling is not affected by the fact that the cause of the madhy may have been something unlawful.

Allah Knows best.
