Fatwa CenterHindu Girl Won't Leave Him Alone
Question
I am in a very critical situation, I began to practice Islam recently. Three years ago when I was leading a life of ignorance, I had a lover, a Hindu girl. After I returned to Islam, I tried to avoid her, but she is not willing to leave me alone. I tried to call her to Islam, but she refuses. Now she calls me asking about getting married because she does not want to accept the proposal of other guys. I told her to marry whoever she wants, but she doesn't want them. This situation has me really depressed. What can I do? I need a clear answer based upon Qur'an and Sunnah.
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
Islam does not permit any affectionate relationships between men and women beyond what is legally approved, like marriage. So, if this woman is not Christian or Jew, then you should not marry her under any circumstances. Allah Says (what means): {And do not marry polytheistic women until they believe.} [Quran 2:221]
So, if she is Hindu, she is forbidden to you in marriage.
