Question

I'm engaged and I love him very much and he loves me too, but I don't shake hands with him, also I don't express by words about my love.Everyone says I'm wrong, but I'm satisfied. Sometimes I feel that he wants me to tell him that I love him or things like that, but I feel that is Haram. What is the limit of talking between us although I'm a practising Muslim?

Answer

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the World; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.

Know that relation between a fiancé and his fiancée is exactly like the relation between two alien persons, i.e. it is Haram to shake hands or be in privacy.
In addition to that, treating such a matter with underestimation will lead to bad consequences such as arousing lusts, spoiling bashfulness and so on. For more details, please read our Fatwa: 81668.
But, you have to know that Shari'a does not prevent a fiancé from talking with his fiancée and sitting with her if it is needed and with the presence of one of her Maharam (a father, brother, …), although we think it is safer to avoid such things except for the first time when the fiancé comes to see her.
And we prefer to discuss any matter that arises during the period of engagement through her Maharim or his mother or sister.
Allah knows best.
