Taking orders for alcoholic drinks

Question

I'm working at a certain hotel as an order taker, taking food and beverage orders including alcoholic drinks. I'm married and have one kid so I want to know if this Haram or Halal.

Answer

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the World; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.

It is completely Haram to work in a shop where wine is sold. The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said: "Allah has cursed Khamr (intoxicant), its drinker, its server, its seller, its presser, the one for whom it is pressed, the one who conveys it, the one to whom it is conveyed and the one who receives its price" . Abu Dawood and al-Hakim with a sound chain of narrators.
Thus, it is your duty to repent from this sin and to leave such a work, and then, to look for a permissible work.
Allah Says (interpretation of meaning): {… And whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty). And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine. And whosoever puts his trust in Allah, then He will suffice him. Verily, Allah will accomplish his purpose. Indeed Allah has set a measure for all things.} [65: 2-3].
Know that it is Haram to work in such a shop whether your duty is to guard the place, clean it or anything else, since such a place is cursed. In addition, one who sees as objectionable action, he has to disprove it at least in one's heart, and then, (he) has to leave the place where the evil exists.
Allah Says (interpretation of meaning): {And it has already been revealed to you in the Book (this Qur'an) that when you hear the Verses of Allah being denied and mocked at, then sit not with them, until they engage in a talk other than that; (but if you stayed with them) certainly in that case you would be like them. Surely, Allah will collect the hypocrites and disbelievers all together in Hell.} [4: 140].
The above verse states clearly that a doer of an evil and the one who stays in the same place are equal in sin.
It is recorded in Hadith: "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should not take a seat on a dining table where wine is served" . al-Tirmizi and al-Hakim with a good chain of narrators.
Allah knows best.
