Question

My father has 2 sons (including me) and a wife. How can he divide the properties according to Islamic inheritance?

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the World; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.

If a person wants to distribute his estate before death and he has two sons and a wife, his wife will take 1/8 of the estate and the two sons will take the remaining part equally. The same rule applies after one's death.
But, if there are other heirs, distribution of inheritance will be different.
