Question
I wonder about eyebrow can a woman color them black? My eyebrow is blond and I color them black and I have done it for now 10 years if I quit I look sick when I color them it looks normal.
Answer
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions. The preponderant view held by the majority of scholars is that dyeing eyebrows with black is Haram (prohibited), based on the Prophet's Hadith (saying): Change this (hair) but avoid black colour. [Narrated by Muslim ]. The Prophet (peace be upon him) also said: There will come some people during the last time who dye their hair with black as the pigeons' stomachs. They will never find the smell of Paradise. [Narrated by Ahmad and Abu Dawood ] This is applicable to the hair of the head, eyebrows, the beard, and any kind of hairs on the human body. Hence, you are not allowed to continue dyeing your eyebrows with black colour, and you must repent and give up this practice. You may use any colour other than black, such as dark brown. Allah knows best.
