I love a girl. Can I propose marriage in like three years time when I can afford it? Insha Allah.

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.

There is no objection that a young man informs a young woman of his desire to marry her after finishing school. But while talking to her he should avoid anything that could arouse feelings and sexual desires like love expressions and the like.

Indeed, indecent expressions could lead to falling into sin. If the man limits himself to informing the girl’s parents that will be better, safer and farther away from temptations.
