Question
I have a great Muslim friend with good morals and good knowledge of Islam. I see her going through hard times, however I can't seem to understand it as she has so much more than many have in life, except a husband. She is growing older (over 30) and seems to have a hard time appreciating her family as she sees them not appreciative of her. How can I help her see that she has it better than many people and how can she find a good Muslim person for marriage as life is a bit difficult here? People tend to deviate from Islam when it comes to marriage.
Answer
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
We ask Allah, the Great, the Lord of the Throne, to settle the matter of your friend, to make her problems easy and provide her with that which is good and blessed for her.
Know that all the matters are in the Hands of Allah. Therefore, she should be content with what Allah has decreed, in addition to using the possible means to help her get married. Here are some useful tips for finding a good husband. Tell her of them.
Befriend good and pious ladies who work in the field of Da’wah and inform them about your interest in getting married to a true follower of Islam.
It is also permissible and advisable for a girl to inform a religious person that she wants to become his wife. This is not a bad practice since some women companions of the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) did so. It is most important to make Du’a to Allah (SWT) to make the search easy and provide a good husband.
