Helping Muslims in Iraq by Qunut

Question

I live in England. What is the best way to help the brothers and sisters in Iraq. do we have to recite qunoot in a daily prayer which is i heard a hadith that companions of prophet that used to do qunoot in their five times prayer

Answer

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.

A Muslim can help his suffering brothers – like the case of the Iraqi people with money, medicine, clothes and so on.

Allah urged people to spend in good causes.

Allah Says (interpretation of meaning): {Who is he that will lend to Allâh a goodly loan so that He may multiply it to him many times?…}[2:245]. Allah also Says (interpretation of meaning): {O you who believe! Spend of what We have provided for you, before a Day comes when there will be no bargaining, nor friendship, nor intercession…..}[2:254]. Allah further Says (interpretation of meaning): {…Believe in Allâh and His Messenger (Muhammad SAW), and spend of that whereof He has made you trustees….}[57:7].

There are many Ahadith and verses on this subject. You can also pray for them that Allah may relieve their agony and sorrow, and save them from the condition they are in and grant them victory.

There is no harm for you to pray for them daily in Qunut. Imam Ahmad reported in the Musnad and Abu Dawud in the Sunan that Ibn Abbas narrated: “The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) made Du’a Qunut for a complete month in Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha and Fajr prayers, at the end of every prayer while standing up from Ruku’ at the last Rak’ah saying “Sami’ Allahu Limen Hamidah,” then he would make a Du’a on the enemy, on the people of Bani Sulaym, on Ri'l, Thukwan and 'Usayyah, and the people praying behind him would say “Ameen”.

Allah knows best.
