Fatwa CenterDua to protect children
Question
My son is very active (mashaAllah) any Dua and any work to keep him in control. He is three years old, any Quranic Dua or Ayah you suggest to give me to read for him.
Answer
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
We are not aware of any special Dua (supplication) which will make the boy less active. It is very common for a boy at this age to be very active and move around a lot. However, it is permissible for you to make Dua for him seeking the refuge with Allah from evil, as the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) used to do for Al-Hasan and Al-Hussain.
Abu Dawud and Al-Thirmidhi and other reported that Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, said: "The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) used to seek Allah's protection for Al-Hasan and Al-Hussain saying: "I command you two to the protection of Allah's Perfect Words from every devil, vermin and every evil eye."
We also advise you to seek the protection of Allah on him by reading the verse of Ayatul- kursi, Ikhlas and the last two chapters of the Qur'an.
