Fatwa CenterDu'a' to make good Muslim friends
Question
I have joined university now. Is there any Du'a' which I should read so that I can make Muslim friends here? Someone who will be really close and be a good friend of mine.
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
First, we ask Allaah to reward you for your zeal in having a good company and we ask Him to make your wish easy. There is no doubt that one of the bounties of Allaah on a Muslim is to bless him with a righteous friend who will remind him when he forgets, and help him when he remembers. It is confirmed that the Prophet 
said: "Do not keep company except with a believing person." [Abu Daawood]. However, we do not know of any supplication regarding what you have requested, but there is no harm in making any supplication, like saying: "O Allaah! Grant me (or bless me with) a righteous friend", and the like.
