I would like to know if I can kiss my sister's or daughter's forehead after her marriage?
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
There is no harm for a person to kiss the forehead of his sister or daughter, Inshaa' Allaah, if one is secure from temptation. Imaam At-Tirmithi reported that 'Aa'ishah
narrated that when Faatimah, Allaah be pleased with her, enters to the Prophet
[and she was his daughter], he would stand and kiss her and seat her in his place. When the Prophet
entered her home, she would stand and kiss him and seat him in her place. When the Prophet
was sick, Faatimah
bent down and kissed him and then she raised her head and cried.
Therefore, the above narration is evidence that it is permissible for a man to kiss his daughter or for a daughter to kiss her father. The sister is like the daughter is this matter.
Allaah knows best.
