Question

Please can you tell me what I should do when I work with Kuffaar and the Fitnah is great, women, music and I fear my Deen, my manager dislikes Islam and me at that matter, should I stay or leave, my uncles own the business and I want to help them, my wife also lives abroad and so I wont have any money to send to her. Please advise me sincerely.

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

Religion and honour are the dearest things that a Muslim possesses in his worldly life, and thus he must guard them even if this is at the expense of his work and earnings. Your money will not benefit you if you lose your religion and moral values. Allaah Says (which means): {Indeed, the losers are the ones who will lose themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection. Unquestionably, that is the manifest loss.}[Quran 39:15]. If a Muslim is afflicted in his religion and moral conduct in a given place, he should leave it, as Allaah Says (which means): {And it has already come down to you in the Book [i.e. the Quran] that when you hear the verses of Allaah [recited] they are denied [by them] and ridiculed; so do not sit with them until they enter into another conversation.}[Quran 4:140]. Allaah further Says (which means): {And if Satan should cause you to forget, then do not remain after the reminder with the wrongdoing people.}[Quran 6:68].

Therefore, we advise you to leave this country since you fear to be tempted in your religion and return to a Muslim country where you will be safe about your religion and your honour. You should be content with whatever income you will earn in your country, as Allaah may bless your little income. Besides, you should advise your uncles to dismiss the non-Muslim man who is running their business and who hates Islam and the Muslims, as a sign of them honouring Allaah and his religion.
