The ruling of a woman not informing her family about the sickness of her fiancé

Question

A man proposed to marry me and I and my family accepted him. He informed me that he is diabetic in the first stages and before we gave him a response on our acceptance or refusal. I do not want to inform my family about it as I fear that they will refuse, as he is a doctor and is able to treat the disease without any health problems. In addition to this, this disease concerns me more than my family. So, am I sinful if I do not inform my family about this disease? Finally, it should be noted that he gave me full freedom to deal with the matter, either to inform my family or not.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

Since you agreed to marry this man as he is with this disease, then you are not obliged to inform your parents about it, and you are not sinful for concealing the disease from them.

Allaah Knows best.
