The cultivation of children starts at a very early age. Some scholars, may Allah have mercy upon them, are even of the view that this starts before the children are born, like feeding and clothing the wife with what is lawful, as this has an impact on the child. Are there any other matters that are legislated by Allah for the cultivation of the child before he is born?
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
Yes, there are other matters that are legislated by Allah, like choosing a pious wife who is religious and has a good moral conduct. Indeed the correct cultivation can only be achieved on the hands of a pious woman, as a person who lacks something cannot give it to others. In addition to this, when a husband has sexual intercourse with his wife, there is a supplication that should be uttered. If one says this supplication and a child is predestined for them after this sexual intercourse, the child will never be touched or harmed by the devil as confirmed in an authentic Hadeeth; and whoever is protected from the harm of the devil, he has indeed escaped from a great harm, and his cultivation in the future will be easier, and he will be closer to accepting guidance and advice.
Allah Knows best.
