Question
I have met this guy and for both of us it was instant attraction. Although we know we are doing wrong, we don't want to take it any further that is why we both want to know if we are going to marry each other. That is why I did Istikhaarah, to seek guidance whether I am going to marry this person. I don't know if it means anything, but I had a dream that we were fixed and me and my parents went to his house to drink Zam Zam. Again I don't know if this means anything, please can you shed some light on it?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
There is no doubt that marriage is the best solution for people who love each other. It is confirmed that the Prophet 
said: "The best solution for those who love each other is to marry." [Ibn Maajah] Therefore, if this man is religious and you inquired about him and it became clear that he is suitable for you as a husband and you performed the Istikhaarah prayer, then you should accept to marry him. If there is any good for you in marrying him, then Allaah will facilitate your marriage. If one performs the Istikhaarah prayer and then sees a dream, this should not have an effect on him in carrying out what he intended or not carrying it out. Allaah chooses and enables people to do what is good.
Finally, it should be noted that a woman should not establish an affectionate relationship with a marriageable man. So if this marriage is achieved, then all perfect praise be to Allaah, otherwise you should absolutely stop thinking about this man.
