Assalaamu alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuhu, Shaykh. If a person is to pray the full prayer sitting due to valid reasons but they are able to stand and begin the prayer standing, is the prayer of such a person invalid if they do not begin it while standing? I started two prayers while sitting out of forgetfullness; do I need to repeat them? May.. More
Salam. Please do not refer to other answers and reply soon. I am going through a severe emotional trauma. I have been suffering from Waswasah (obsessive/devilish whisperings) regarding apostasy, purification, and pronunciation in prayer for a long time. It has now reached the point that sometimes the devil makes me want to leave the prayer (may Allah.. More
Assalaam alaykum. I have a few more questions about ease in prayer. These answers will help me very much, Allaah willing:
1. In each position, does the praying person have to recite the required Athkaar (plural of Thikr [expressions of remembrance of Allaah]) while simultaneously being completely still? If a person recites while not being completely.. More
Assalaamu alaykum. I thank you for your responses regarding previous questions about the prayers. I keep trying to get better in my worship. I often catch a cold just because of the weather or just because of taking a bath. During prayers, the mucus bothers me, and I have some minor difficulty breathing. So then I sniff the mucus so that it does not.. More
Assalaamu alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuhu. If I do not cover my head during prayer to show that it is not obligatory in Islam, is that good or not? Our elders in the Salafi masjid raise questions about it. What should I do. How should I correct my intention? If I cover my head, is it for the people? And if I do not do so, then questions will.. Assalaamu alaykum. Please do not refer to other questions. It takes me about 10 times to pronounce the letter ‘Aayn correctly in Surah Al-Faatihah and the Tashahhud when I am praying by myself. It is often replaced with 'hamza'. Shall I keep repeating it till I get it correct, or shall I proceed?

Assalaamu alaykum, dear, respected Shaykh. My question is regarding the prayer. I read a hadith that says that when one is distracted from the prayer, it is because of a devil called Khuzan (may Allah, the Exalted, curse him). I read that the solution to this is to recite, "A‘oothu billaahi min ash-shaytaan-ir-rajeem," (I seek refuge in Allah from.. More
Assalaamu alaykum. Could you please give me some advice on how to avoid pressing my forehead on the ground hard? Whenever I feel like supplicating while prostrating in or outside the prayer, I have the tendency to press my forehead on the ground, then when I get up, I feel a little lightheaded.

After completing the Witr prayer, I remembered that I did not read the Qunoot supplication. Do I need to repeat it? Also, before ending the prayer with the Tasleem once, I was in doubt as to whether I read the Qunoot supplication or not, so I stood up and repeated that unit of prayer. Was that correct of me? My final question is whether the Witr prayer.. More

Assalaamu alaykum. I have difficulty pronouncing the Athkaar (pl. of Thikr [expressions of remembrance of Allaah]) silently. Therefore, most times, when I pray behind the imam, I am unable to complete the recitation of the Athkhaar before he moves on to the next position. That said, when this occurs, I sometimes try to force the recitation of the Athkhaarso.. More
What is the ruling on pronouncing the letter Daal (corresponding to D in English) in a way that sounds to people like Taa’ (corresponding to T in English) while reciting Al-Fatihah? Please advise me regarding some supplications that I have come accustomed to saying during prostrations; I do not know if they are allowed or not. My question is about two people in the mosque. They shake hands while there is a third person who is praying between them. As such, their hands are in the way of his Qiblah (prayer direction, the Ka'bah in Makkah). Is this considered passing in front of the one who is praying?
