Honesty brings about blessing

Question

In the Name of Allaah The Most Merciful, The Ever-Merciful.
As-Salaamu ‘Alaykum,
What is the ruling on selling imitation auto spare parts which are packaged in the boxes of genuine spare parts? Of course, we buy them and sell them to shops at the price of imitation items. We do not know whether some of those shop owners sell them as genuine or not. What is the ruling on this case?May Allaah Reward you.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.

There is no sin upon you in your selling because you sell the goods without deceiving or cheating according to their value. However, if you know that those who buy these goods from you will cheat people, it is impermissible for you to sell to them because this will be a form of cooperation in sin and aggression which is forbidden by Allaah. There is no doubt that honesty in trade brings about blessings, whereas cheating eliminates these blessings. I remind every person who is honest in trade with the glad tidings given by the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, in his Hadeeth: “The honest, truthful Muslim trader will be (on the Day of Resurrection) with the Prophets, the steadfast affirmers of truth, the martyrs and the righteous.” [Ibn Maajah; Al-Albaani: Saheeh]

Allaah Knows best.
