Purchases made unlawfully

Question

I have a few questions for you to answer me please:
1)There was a man who wanted a wife then this man found out that the girl she proposed wasn't born in the country he lived, they didn't reply if he wanted a girl or not, can the girl pray Istikhaara so this man can engage her again because she never heard if the man got married. After praying Istikhaara what will she notice if this man is good for her or not?
2)There was friend of mine who went shopping with her aunt after buying the things they wanted, the aunt told the worker of the shop that I took much of this things its very expensive reduce the price, the worker took some of the things and hid inside the others the aunt didn't know that except she knew that the worker will bargain with the man in-charge and reduce the price after noticing that she was shocked and couldn't speak to her because her fellow workers were there. So when going to the counter and pay the aunt paid less than the exact amount, so Shaykh is this Haraam? She wanted to return the things next morning but she is afraid if she is going to be noticed. So what can my friend and aunt does so that Allaah can forgive them.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

First of all, it is not permissible for a Muslim to take the money [wealth] of another person without his consent. The Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: "Verily your blood, your property and your honour are sacred and inviolable…" [Al-Bukhari and Muslim] The Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) further said: "Do not be unjust to each other, do not be unjust to each other, do not be unjust to each other, it is not permissible to take the property of a person except with his consent." [Ahmad]

Therefore, we advise your aunt to find out whether this female worker is authorized to do what she had done. If she finds out that she is authorized to do so, then there is no harm on this woman for what she had taken, but if it becomes clear that she was not authorized, then she has to give back what she had taken to the owners. If she fears any harm, she can give it back indirectly.

Allaah knows best.
