Fatwa CenterAbnormality due to the negligence of his mother
Question
salam alaikom , in islam each person must assume fully her responsabilities, my problem is that Iwas subject to a mulnutrution in my childhood culminating in an orthpedic anomaly (x legs form) , the cause is my mother of course, this anomaly causes me a damage notably spiritually, and it is a hamper in some cases to be appointed in some jobs albeit I hold a master of econometrics and has excellent command of english,only prayers and faith are sustaining may hope in this life, is that just in islam?Thank you
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
First of all, we ask Allaah to cure you from this abnormality.
You should be patient as the outcome of patience is always goodness; for more benefit on the excellence of patience, please refer to Fatwa 83577.
You should also supplicate Allaah as much as possible because goodness is all in the Hands of Allaah. Remember how He cured Ayoob (Job) 
after a long disease. Moreover, you should know that every disease has a cure; some people know it while others are unaware of it; as conveyed by the Prophet 
in an authentic narration.
As regards your mother, if she was really negligent and she had no sound excuse, then she was wrong. However, you are obliged to be kind and dutiful to her even though she mistreated you. Rather, you should consider being kind and dutiful to her, perhaps Allaah would fulfil your need and accept your supplication thanks to that.

Finally, you should not despair from looking for a job, as Allaah may facilitate it for you even with your abnormality.
