Question
I would like to find the meaning of my brother name called "Mishkar."
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
It might be that the name 'Mishkar' means the one who is overly grateful or thankful; like it is said for Mifdhaal, a man who is overly graceful, kind and beneficent. It is stated in Lissaan Al-Arab (Arabic Encyclopaedia), that 'Mishkar' is among the camels whose milk last for the entire year. It is also among the animals which produce milk in abundance despite poor nutrition.
