I work the night shift from 10:00 pm to 10:00 am and I pray Fajr at the mosque as I stay up all night because of my work. Is my reward of the Fajr prayer equal to that of someone who works during the day time and sleeps at night then wakes up at the time of Fajr specially to offer the prayer at its due time although he works all day? Please advise me regarding some supplications that I have come accustomed to saying during prostrations; I do not know if they are allowed or not. These supplications include sayings like 'Rabbi-shrah li sadri wa yassir li amri…' [My Lord, expand my chest and make things easy for me…], 'Allahumma waffiqni lita‘atika' [O Allah! Make me succeed.. I am studying in a Jewish college and it is not possible for me to pray during class times. Furthermore, the Jews do not like to see us pray in public places. As such, I pray sitting in my car at the time of the Thuhr and ‘Asr, as I would also be unable to keep my ablution if I were to leave the campus. Is this acceptable from a sharia perspective?

I prayed with the Imam and he forgot the second prostration in one of the Raka‘hs. Knowing that this was the Fajr prayer, what should those being led and the Imam do if this was remembered after the end of the prayer and the people had already departed?

I have a question about the azan. One of our imams told us not to enter the toilet when you are hearing it. People like me, who perform ablution in a bath with an attached toilet (three-in-one), have I to wait till the azan is over? Also, I hear the azan from two mosques. If I give time for the first one to be finished, then the second one will start... More
